Why Do You Want to Embark on This Journey?

This is the foundation for every decision you make from this point onwards.

2. Comment below this lesson to share WHY you would like to create a site builder in your niche.

3. Finally, head over to the WaaS.CAMP Members Only Private FB Community to share your why as well so more people can see it as well.

1. Why Do You Want to Embark on this Journey?

In this process, we will go over the main benefits to building a WaaS and how it can move your business to new heights.

We will start with 5 benefits of a WaaS, and then move into your current situation and where you want to go. This will help you to craft your unique why and create a goal for your WaaS as you move forward.

So let's get started!

1.1 Five Benefits of Building a WaaS

There are many benefits to creating a WaaS and here are 5 of the most important ones.

  1. Reliability: Consitent Environment
  2. Simplicity: Central Dashboard with Common Components
  3. Scalability: Easily Add More Customers Without Much Effort
  4. Faster Delivery: Get New Websites Up and Running Quickly
  5. Reduced Time Investment: Automates Processes

Which of these benefits are the most important for you?

Reorder them from the most to the least beneficial for you. Feel free to add more benefits if there is something else that is drawing your towards building a WaaS.

1.2 How a WaaS Would Benefit You

Before we go through the whole process to clarify, start by writing one sentence about the way a WaaS would benefit you.

Here are a few ideas of why you might be motivated to create a WaaS:

  • Freedom: Create the money, time and location-independence to live the life you want to
  • Impact: Expand your ability to change people’s lives
  • Relationships: Create connection with prospects, customers, and your affiliates
  • Flexibility: YOU choose what to focus on, YOU choose timing, YOU choose structure
  • Market Domination: Take the leadership role in your industry
  • Massive Value: You are creating something of quality that will help many people
  • Fun: Running a successful WaaS is a huge rush!

What is the top thing that it will help you accomplish or be able to do?

Write down one sentence about how hosting a successful WaaS would benefit you.

2. Understand Your Current Situation and Goals

There are three main parts in this section:

  1. Where are you right now?
  2. Where do you want to go?
  3. How will a WaaS help you to get there?

You will find several questions to answer in each part, to help you to really understand how a WaaS can help to pave the way from A to B.

2.1 Where Are You Right Now?

The best place to start when clarifying why you want to create a WaaS is right where you are now. Once you're clear about that, it's easier to pinpoint where you want to go, and how a WaaS can take you there.

Here are some questions to think about:

Audience and Reach

  • If you already have a blog/podcast/youtube channel, how many views or downloads do you get each month?
  • How many people do you have on your email list right now?
  • How many followers do you have on Facebook? Twitter? Pinterest? LinkedIn? Instagram? Other social media that you use?

Connections and Partnerships

  • Which people in your niche would you feel comfortable sending an email to ask them to share something that you've just published with their audience? List out their names.
  • Which people in your niche have you contacted at least once in the last 6 months via email or social media?
  • Do you have any partnerships with other companies in your niche?

Income and Revenue

  • What is your average annual revenue?
  • What is your average monthly revenue?
  • What sources of income do you currently have? (e.g. hourly rate, online products/courses, coaching)

Reflection

As you were going through the questions above, how did your answers make you feel?

Are you happy with where you are at right now?

Or do you feel like you're behind where you want to be?

Write down a paragraph of 2-3 sentences to summarize your current situation.

  • Answer questions about audience and reach
  • Answer questions about connections and partnerships
  • Answer questions about income and revenue
  • Write a paragraph to describe how you feel about your current situation

2.2 Where Do You Want To Go?

Now we're going to work through your goals  and where you'd like to head from here. This is important because it helps you to pinpoint what would make this a success for you and what to focus on as you create your WaaS.

Here are some questions to think about:

Audience and Reach

  • If you have a blog/podcast/youtube channel, how many views or downloads do you want each month?
  • How many people do you want on your email list?
  • How many followers do you want on Facebook? Twitter? Pinterest? LinkedIn? Instagram? Other social media that you use?

Connections and Partnerships

  • Who are the top 5 influencers in your niche that you would LOVE to connect with?
  • Who else in your niche would you be interested in partnering with in the future?
  • Do you have any ideas for partnerships that you'd like to implement?

Income and Revenue

  • How much revenue would you like to generate annually?
  • How much time do you ideally want to spend working to generate that income?
  • How much revenue would you like to generate with your WaaS?

Reflection

As you were going through the questions above, did you have any interesting insights about where you want to go?

Write down a paragraph of 2-3 sentences to summarize your goals and where you want to go.

2.3 How Will a WaaS Help You to Get There?

The next step is to connect the dots between where you are and where you want to go. You've already invested in WaaS.CAMP, so it's safe to say that you believe a WaaS could be the best thing to take you there.

But how will it do that?

Here are some questions to flesh it out:

  • Where are the biggest gaps between where you are right now and where you want to go?
  • In what ways will a successful WaaS help you to make the transition?
  • Why is a WaaS better than other options to bridge the gap?

Write down the answers to the questions above to clarify why a summit is useful for you to reach your goal.

3. Figure Out Your Unique Why

Now that you know where you are at this point in time and where you want to go, the next part is simple. You just need to boil those answers down into a simple WHY statement that you can refer back to whenever you are in doubt.

Trust me, this will come in handy when you hit roadblocks along the way and you need something to ground yourself and keep you moving forward.

3.1 Use Your Current Situation to Craft Your Why

So now we’re going to use your answers from the previous section to craft your unique WHY statement. This is a short, simple statement that represents why you are going to dedicate so much time over the next few months towards putting together a profitable WaaS.

Condense your answers from the previous section into a single sentence that describes WHY you are going to create a WaaS.

3.2 Display Your “Why”

The final thing that you should do is write your why statement down and keep it somewhere that you are going to see it often.

You might like to:

  • Stick it on the wall above your desk
  • Save it to your computer desktop background
  • Put it on a post-it note and stick it on your bedroom mirror
  • Write it in your diary

The exact place is up to you, but the point is to keep it somewhere that you’ll see it and be reminded WHY you’re putting in all this effort to build a WaaS. Because it’s worth it!
